Jim Murray ne surprinde din nou cu alegerile sale, cel puțin ciudate, pentru cel mai bun whisky din lume.
Din fericire știm cu cine avem de-a face, un ”vandut”, așa cum se duce zvonul prin lumea iubitorilor de whisky (în special pe bloguri). Primii care îi contestă obiectivitatea sunt chiar scoțienii, care-l etichetează ca “un englez ce locuiește în America și care habar n-are despre whisky scoțian”.
Totusi scoțienii se folosesc de numele lui atunci când le “gâdilă” câte o etichetă și-l înjură când le detronează altele (vorbim acum despre reprezentanții distileriilor).
Mie unul îmi este foarte greu să cred că cel mai bun whisky este unul american, și mai ales un “rye”(secara), chiar și învechit 13 ani (Booker’s Rye 13, 68,1% abv). Nu de alta dar secara este și un pic mai puțin darnică în arome ca orzul.
Dar neavând ocazia să gust acest whisky nu mă pot pronunța definitiv, așa că, dacă vă cade în mână aduceți-l la The Whisky Club și vom hotărî împreună.
